Wok & grill is a Chinese restaurant in the heart of trumpington. They built it in the shape of a cottage, which makes it a little unusual and interesting the moment you walk into the restaurant. I went with my friends as we had booked a table earlier; we came in with more people than we booked for, but the staffs handled the situation professionally by adding tables to ours to accommodate us all.
As the name rightly states, the food served in wok & grill is piping hot. The starters are served buffet style and boy; did I know that. There were up to 20 dishes I stuffed my face full with spare ribs, prawn toast, crab claws, chicken satay, spring rolls, stir fries, crispy seaweed and pancakes not knowing there was the main food to come and all this was included in the £12 we paid each, which isn't often the case in other Chinese restaurants.
Main meal is prepared in front of customers from fresh ingredient and sauces chosen by the customer. This makes it unique and one of my favourite Chinese restaurant.
I chose the mushroom, chicken, crispy vegetables, squid, oyster and noodles with teriyaki sauce. I have never had food served that fresh and I really enjoyed it. There is a wide range of sushi and vegetarian choice on the menu such as salad, tofu, mushroom etc. And there is an ice cream self-vending machine, which did make desert a bit more adventurous however childish it may sound.
Apart from the very good food served, they have good park space, a friendly atmosphere that would suit family outings, and designated areas for romantic outing; overall, it caters for every ones need. The price was very reasonable and the customer service was superb, it is a place worth going back to for a nice meal out. -

After reading a couple of reveiws about this restaurant i felt i had to write one. We visited the Wok and Grill for a family birthday earlier his year. I took my newborn baby who was unusally grizzly. We found the staff to be pleasant, smiling, interactive and helpful. They did forget to bring one of the drinks we ordered, so we checked on the bill at the end, and it was not on there I'm not sure about the buffet food though - sometimes it looks as if the food has been sat there a while and looks a little dried up. the fresh food that is cooked infront of you is very good though.
If you are able to travel a little then i would recommend the Chinese buffet restaurant in St Ives - Cheerry Valley- you sit at the table and order which ever items you want off the menu, they are bought out to the table freshly cooked and piping hot. -

Wok and grilll used to be a great place to go when it first opened. The food is still okay and the delight of having food cooked in from of you is wonderful. There are a few concernes over the unfriendly staff and the charging for children who are very small. Not as cheap as some places, but not bad for an all you can eat type place.

I love the wok n grill, and so do my family. We're just booking another visit. We have never had anything less than friendly, excellent service, helpful staff and loads of delicious things to eat. I could wish the toffee banana recipe was more toffee-ish and less like a banana fritter, but by the time I get to pudding, I'm too full and happy to care much, usually!
